National League imposes a fourth embargo of the year upon Morecambe FC

The National League has imposed yet another embargo upon Morecambe.

Morecambe have confirmed the club is operating under another embargo imposed by the National League.

The ‘judgements and decisions’ page on the league’s website said the Shrimps were put under embargo on Monday, October 26.

This time, it is for what the league described as ‘non-compliance with league financial regulations - football creditors’.

A club statement said: “Morecambe Football Club acknowledges the National League’s decision to place it under another player registration embargo and is working hard to have this resolved and removed as soon as possible.

“Morecambe Football Club will be making no further comment.”

It is the second time this season an embargo has been placed upon the club, with one having been done so in August regarding the club’s pension contributions.

In all, Morecambe have operated under four embargoes this year following ones imposed in February and March.
