Lancaster young people's charity to host unique fashion show

A young people’s charity is hosting a fashion show with a difference.

Over the past few weeks, a group of young people from Escape2Make (E2M), guided by Rosie Tacon Glass, has been working on learning new ways to design, upcycle and personalise different items of clothing.

They are now looking forward to showing off what they’ve made at a fashion show.

The show will give the young people an opportunity to proudly show off all of their hard work.

To celebrate sustainable fashion, the charity will also be hosting a clothes swap, so make sure you take along some bits that you don't wear anymore for a chance to pick up some new treasures.

The fashion show will be held at the Escape2Make premises at 56 Church Street, Lancaster, on Saturday November 7, 2-4pm.

Thanks go to FoodFutures: North Lancashire for making the project possible, as well as support from Molly Bland, Sewing Café Lancaster and the Lancaster Defying Dementia Charity Shop.

E2M is a charity that aims to help 11-18s from all walks of life in the Lancaster and Morecambe area to escape from boredom, social media, loneliness and pressure at school or home by providing free creative activities.

E2M creates safe, kind, welcoming spaces through its creative workshops. These take the form of clubs, school holiday programs, outreach workshops and community events such as festivals, cabarets, fairs, and markets that are hosted by local artists and local businesses.

All the activities are inclusive and free and designed to help young people make things, make friends, and make a difference in the community.
