Four people were taken to hospital after a collision between a bus and a car in Morecambe.

One of those injured suffered a seizure after the number 5 Stagecoach bus from Overton to Carnforth - which was carrying 75 passengers - was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra in Marine Road East at 8.25am on Friday, May 8.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, and two people were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, while a further two were taken to Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe.

A spokesman for Stagecoach said: “Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire can confirm that an incident took place earlier today Friday May 8 on Marine Road East in Morecambe.

“The incident happened at approximately 8.25am and involved a service 5 from Overton to Carnforth.

“Approximately 75 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the incident.

“Safety is our absolute priority and we will do everything in our power to assist the investigation into identifying the cause of the accident”
