Former Morecambe ‘keeper Arestidou joins Fleetwood

The Lancaster stopper left the Globe Arena in the summer as part of a budget cut and has now signed a short-term deal at Highbury.

The former Preston ‘keeper trained with Fleetwood during pre-season and was on the bench for the friendlies against Getafe and Burnley.

He signed ahead of the 1-1 draw with Southend on Saturday and was an unused substitute.

Arestidou is set to act as an understudy to Chris Maxwell with usual number two American Brendan Moore likely to be sidelined for several months with a fractured ankle.
