A Lancaster woman who started her business just nine months ago has been shortlisted for a prestigious Rising Star award.

Harriet has achieved recognition in The Beauty & Aesthetics Awards which recognise outstanding individuals, educators and businesses in the industry from across the UK.
The Caton 48-year-old trained in permanent make-up and launched her business, The Brow Narrative, in January.
Despite having a creative background, both the skill of tattooing and the beauty industry were completely new to her.
“This was a huge change for me and I've worked hard to train and achieve the skills and qualifications needed to deliver the highest quality service to my clients," she said.
"I'm so delighted to be shortlisted for this national award and it's just proof that hard work can pay off.
"I'm 48 and it just goes to show that it's never too late to change direction if you believe in yourself”.
Harriet works at the Haer & Hyd salon in Hornby and The Revyse Clinic, Fulwood.
The Rising Star Award recognises emerging talent within the industry, celebrating individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, professional development and a commitment to building a successful career.
Being shortlisted is an achievement in itself. Entrants have progressed through a structured assessment process, with their work, evidence and professional development independently reviewed.
The winner of the award will be announced at a red carpet event at The Manchester Deansgate Hotel on December 5.
