Police reopen investigation into death of Lancaster woman
Detectives have reopened the investigation into the death of 27-year-old Lancaster woman following a campaign by her family, who fear she could have been murdered.
Katie Beattie was found dead at her flat in Lancaster and an inquest was unable to determine how she died, reports ITV.
Police enquiries initially concluded there was no evidence to suggest her death was suspicious.
However, her family say they have unanswered questions and campaigned for a fresh review of the case.

They have also launched a petition at https://www.change.org/p/katie-beth-s-law which aims to reform the way unexplained deaths are investigated.
Katie was found dead on July 1, 2024.
Following a Victim’s Right to Review application, Lancashire Police confirmed that the original investigation has been reassessed and further enquiries are now being conducted.
Katie’s sister Kellie Rhodes said she was on the school run when she got the news in an email.

She told ITV: "The first thing I did was call my mum.
"We're ecstatic at the news, but there's also a level of frustration because we shouldn't have had to fight for this."
Lancashire Police have appealed for anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
A spokesman said: "The initial investigation has been reviewed following a victim right to review, and further enquiries are being conducted following this.
"Anyone with information that can assist those enquiries is asked to call 101 quoting log 1092 of July 1 2024."
