Fundraising day in Lancaster for wheelchair-bound woman with MS who needs specialist treatment abroad
The family of a Morecambe woman with MS are holding a fun day to raise money for specialist treatment not available on the NHS.
Samantha Burns was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 13 years ago and is now wheelchair bound.
She has exhausted all the NHS treatment options and her family have now found a specialist clinic in Cyprus which offers an intensive personalised treatment programme.
A gofundme has been launched to raise money to fund Sam’s treatment, travel expenses, hiring of equipment for use in her hotel and anything else related to this.

Sam’s family now have a few events in the makings to raise extra cash for Sam’s treatment.
The fun day at The Park pub in Lancaster is on Saturday, October 24 from 4pm and is family friendly.
There will be live music, karaoke, food, raffle, games and more to help raise money for life changing treatment for Sam.
Noonchi Cake in Leeds provided a beautiful cake to raffle off, and the owner of Fairy Godmother Domestic and Commercial has donated £250.

Jade at the Co-op in Heysham has raised £400.
Sam’s sister said: “The raffle at the event has some great prizes! These range from gift vouchers of all different amounts from friends and family, a £50 Love2shop voucher donated by Lizz at Hayes Travel, a chippy tea from Bare village fish and chips, a tattoo voucher from Cassie at Dalton Ink, two Odyssey wrestling tickets at The Alhambra, Lancastert City football tickets, two tickets for Carnforth film night donated by Bob Bailey, various bottles of booze, boxes of chocolates, meals for two at various restaurants in the town, Lego, a voucher for a free dog walk and much more.
"There will be loads of games for the children to win prizes and sweets, a strongman competition, pie the boss, a human fruit machine, name the teddy and two local artists will be entertaining people throughout the afternoon and evening.
"All the proceeds go towards life changing treatment for Sam. Come and show your support!”
