New seating area for teens installed in Lancaster park

The seating area has been installed on the grassed area behind the children’s playground in Ryelands Park, and accompanies some previously installed benches.

A spokesperson for the Friends of Ryelands Park said: “We're happy to say that the latest installation has arrived in the park – a seating area, designed to appeal to teenagers, in now in place, in the grassed area behind the children's playground.

"There are already some benches there, so this completes the location.

"We've been aware for a long time that we have little provision for teenagers and young people, so this is a step in that direction; located so as to be an attractive place to sit, without disturbing the park neighbours.

"Our thanks to Lancaster city council for facilitating this...another great example of partnership working!”
