High tide causes huge waves to batter Morecambe promenade

These dramatic shots of Morecambe promenade were taken this lunchtime by Chris Foote.

The pictures show the waves crashing over the railings onto the promenade as the full force of Storm Jonas hit the region.

The resort’s Midland Hotel can be seen in the background with the boiling and turbulent sea spewing waves onto the promenade.
