This week is the spring half-term holiday and teachers all over the district are taking a well-earned break.

We’ve compiled a gallery of photos from our archives that might just bring back some memories for some of those teachers – and the pupils they taught.

This selection of photos taken between the 1990s and the present day are sure to have faces on that many of you will recognise.

Brian Jensen (79) raised £1,224 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation by taking the Irish Sea as his reference point and cycling 498.5 miles from his home in Morecambe through the five countries bordering it. Over the 10 days it took in 2019, he was accompanied by 63-year-old former history teacher Simon Millward-Hopkins, from Preston. The two met when they both taught at Garstang High School, now Garstang Academy.
