Table Tennis: Club derby match in Kennon Trophy

St Lukes D were narrowly defeated 5-4 at Garstang Cowboys in the Lancaster and Morecambe Table Tennis League’s Kennon Trophy.

There were strong performances from Joe Peat and Kevin Aughton. David Hughes played well for the visitors but had to give second best to Aughton in the final set of the match.

Morecambe A were at home to St Lukes E and took full advantage to storm to a 5-1 win with Nathan Beamer winning man of the match with his 100 per cent record.

Beamer was well supported by Matthew Knowles-Cooke and Aiden Branch.

Ray Forbes, John Allen and Elizabeth IIcheva played well for the Saints without reward.

Adam Ordenez, Hudson Nuttall and Abhinav Sinha, the Morecambe B team, were too strong for the youngsters Elliott Bywater, Naomi Collins and Matthew Westworth, the Morecambe C team players, in this local derby match.

The Sinha, Nuttall and Ordenez trio hit top form to cruise to a 5-1 win.

The draw for the plate semi-finals is Garstang Cowboys v 3-1-5 and Morecambe B v Morecambe A.

The main trophy semi-finals is Raptors v Garstang A and Garstang B v St Lukes A/B.
