Dave Chisnall reaches round two of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix

Dave Chisnall breezed into round two of the PDC’s BoyleSports World Grand Prix on Tuesday evening.

Chisnall, a two-time finalist in the tournament, opened the second night’s action at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena with a 2-0 victory in his game against Cameron Menzies.

The sixth seed recorded a six-leg whitewash of his opponent in progressing to the last 16.

He now meets Dimitri Van den Bergh on Thursday after he beat Luke Woodhouse 2-1.

Dave Chisnall's early exit following second September title

Following a blistering start from Woodhouse, Van den Bergh averaged 104 in set two to restore parity before kicking off the deciding set with a 132 checkout on his way to victory.

He finished the match with an average of 97, as well as hitting five 180s along the way.

Night two also saw Daryl Gurney whitewash six-time champion Michael van Gerwen, as Michael Smith and Peter Wright were beaten by Gary Anderson and James Wade respectively.
