Actors, international sports stars and even a Nobel Prize winner have their roots in the town of Morecambe.

9. Dave Chisnall

10. Helen Worth
Helen Worth is best known for portraying the role of Gail Platt in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, a role that she has played since 1974. In 2014, she received the Outstanding Achievement Award at The British Soap Awards. 11. Tyson Fury

12. Dame Thora Hird
The actress, comedian, presenter and writer enjoyed a career spanning over 70 years in which she appeared in more than 100 film and television roles, becoming a household name and a British institution. Thora was born in Morecambe and her family background was largely theatrical. Her mother had been an actress, while her father managed a number of entertainment venues in Morecambe, including the Royalty Theatre, where Thora made her first appearance, and the West End Pier.
