Spend an evening with the ‘man in the white suit’

Former broadcast war reporter and ex-independent politician Martin Bell will be spending an evening with an audience at The Grand theatre in Lancaster.

Known affectionately as the ‘man in the white suit’, Martin who worked at the BBC has had a stunning career in journalism, winning Reporter of the Year twice.

He covered war zone assignments including those in Vietnam, The Gulf and Bosnia – in which he was wounded by shrapnel – and gave evidence five times at the War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.

He was appointed by UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador and was recognised by receiving the OBE.

He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tatton from 1997 to 2001.

He has written six stunning books including A Very British Revolution, appeared on BBC 1’s Question Time and even had a flower named after him at The Chelsea Flower Show.
