Lancashire's Tyson Fury announces his comeback fight after a year of retirement & it'll be on Netflix!

Lancashire based boxer Tyson Fury has made a huge announcement about his route out of retirement.

37-year-old Tyson Fury is to make his comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 in a fight that will be screened on Netflix .

The Morecambe based father of seven stepped away from the sport a year ago in the wake of successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

However earlier this month, he announced the end of his latest retirement writing on Instagram: “2026 is that year. Return of the mac. Been away for a while but I’m back now, 37 years old and still punching. Nothing better to do than punch men in the face and get paid for it.”

Today he has at last shared the news of his first return fight, taking place this spring, alongside the news it will be aired on Netflix.

Taking to Instagram to share the show poster, Tyson said: “Well it’s official im back doing what i ❤️ to do. Iv brought the biggest network along with me @netflix@netflixuk this is going to be astronomical. Blessed by God🙏 @turki#themacisback#boxing#world”

Makhmudov, a 36-year-old Russian based in Canada, most recently fought Doncaster's Dave Allen in October when he secured a unanimous points decision.

The 6'6" puncher has won 21 of his 23 fights and has compiled 19 knockouts, but he was also stopped in his defeats by Guido Vianello and Agit Kabayel.

A venue has yet to be announced for the fight but it will take place in the UK, making it Tyson's first contest on these shores since he overcame Derek Chisora in 2022.

"I am thrilled about the opportunity," Makhmudov said. "I'm coming to deliver a war.

"Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W."

Netflix also shared the same show poster alongside the caption: “Tyson Fury is coming home. TYSON FURY vs. ARSLANBEK MAKHMUDOV. Saturday April 11 from the United Kingdom — and LIVE only on Netflix.

The show of course does not represent Tyson’s first dealings with the streaming giant.

Back in 2023, ‘At Home with the Furys’ followed the Fury clan’s life and proved popular with viewers - racking up 10.8 million viewers in total.

In May 2025, Netflix also announced it had officially renewed the series, posting on X that post-production had started for ‘At Home with the Furys Season 2’ with filming expected in both Morecambe and Monaco.

Two months on from that announcement, Tyson even revealed he was filming ‘Tyson Fury The Documentary’ with Netflix too but perhaps that show has morphed into this latest TV offering, thanks to the Lancastrian’s insistence on returning to boxing.
