The decision comes after Lancaster Vision hosted a successful conference on January 21 on social housing in partnership with Lancaster City Council.

The event coincided with the consultation taking place on the council’s new Homes Strategy 2020-2025.

The event was oversubscribed and a total of 97 people were registered and heard from a number of key note speakers on the preparation of the Homes Strategy and the key housing priorities identified, with workshops on increasing the supply of social housing, community led housing, housing poverty and actions on climate change.

A further 21 applicants were placed on a reserve list and the group has sent out the presentation slides and the conference highlights to those who were unable to attend on the day.

As a result of the interest which has been generated locally about the Homes Strategy, it has been decided to extend the consultation period until February 15.

This is the first occasion where Lancaster Vision and Lancaster City Council have worked together on such a venture and all are agreed that there will be future collaboration between the two teams.
