A Lancaster film maker's new action movie is to be shown in the city this week.

Bad Day at the Office is directed by Chee Keong Cheung, and will be screened at Vue in Lancaster on Friday October 30.

It will also show in more than 150 cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

Former Lancaster Royal Grammar School student Chee – whose family runs the Golden Dragon restaurant in Lancaster – has made films worldwide over the last 20 years, having shot his first action film in Lancaster as a teenager before going on to attend Surrey Institute of Art & Design.

He has worked with stars including Sir Ian McKellen and Richard Dreyfuss, and his company Action Xtreme recently teamed up with Sir Idris Elba's production company 22Summers and Moses Babatope’s Nile Media Entertainment Group from Nigeria in an initiative which aimed to create African genre content capable of reaching global audiences.

Bad Day at the Office is a first person action thriller shot entirely on Gopro cameras.

It features actor John Hannah as Karl, who wakes up in a wrecked hotel room with no memory, a dead body in the bathtub, and the police knocking at his door.

Reluctantly forced to team up with hotel maid Molly, he’s thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse through a city that wants him dead.

Karl must rely on long-buried instincts to survive – and uncover the truth behind his lost identity.
