Flood alert issued for Morecambe Bay coast
A flood alert has been issued for the coast at North Morecambe Bay, from Roosebeck to Carnforth.
According to the government flooding service, high tides today (Tuesday) may lead to flooding.
Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths along the coast at North Morecambe Bay from Roosebeck to Carnforth including low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale.
Flooding is possible until 2.15pm today, (Tuesday, October 27).
The Environment Agency said it is closely monitoring the situation and has urged people to avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
The alert will be updated by 5pm today, (Tuesday October 27) or sooner if the situation changes.
