Labour candidate Margaret Pattison has won the by-election in Harbour ward in Morecambe.

The vote was held after the passing of Labour councillor Janice Hanson in May.

The results of yesterday's by-election were:

Colin Hewitt (Conservative) 124

Coun Margaret Pattison celebrates her win.

Margaret Elizabeth Pattison (Labour) 555

Jake Aaron Ross Perkins (Liberal Democrat) 479

After the result, Coun Pattison said: “Thank you to the people of Harbour Ward who voted for me. I can carry on Coun Janice Hanson’s work after her sad passing.”

Coun Pattison is also a Morecambe town councillor.
