Applications now open for Morecambe Town Council’s festivals and events grant fund
Morecambe Town Council is now accepting applications to its Festivals and Events Grant Fund, which supports festivals and events that take place in, and deliver benefits for, Morecambe.
Over the past year the council awarded more than £55,000 in grants to support events including A Splendid Day Out Victorian Steampunk Festival, Morecambe Punk Festival, Armed Forces Day, Morecambe Pride, Morecambe Poetry Festival, Christmas on the Crescent, Bare Remembers, Barefest, the Promenade Concert Orchestra’s concert season at The Platform, Morecambe 1940s Revival, Morecambe Maritime Festival, and the West End Winter Lantern Festival.
Subject to confirmation of the council’s budget, an anticipated record total of up to £65,000 will be available in 2026/27 to support events that deliver a wide range of economic, social, environmental and cultural benefits for the town.
Coun Lee Bradbury, chair of Morecambe Town Council’s festivals, sponsorships and events committee, said: “Morecambe Town Council is planning to invest more than ever before in supporting our local festivals and events scene in the coming financial year and we’re really looking forward to hearing about the creative ideas and exciting plans people have for 2026.
“Grant application processes can feel daunting for those unfamiliar with them, so I can’t emphasise enough that if anyone is considering applying and has questions that aren’t answered on our website, they should simply email us at [email protected] and a member of the team will be happy to help.”
Eligibility and assessment criteria for the fund can be found, along with the online application form, at https://www.morecambe.gov.uk/council-services/festivals-and-events-grants/
The application window closes at noon on February 9 2026.
