A police chase on the M6 at Lancaster on Tuesday morning led to a crash which closed the motorway in both directions for around an hour.

Police spotted a Volvo C30 driving at high speeds and dangerously on the M6 northbound at around 10.15am.
They gave chase and the car left the M6 at the junction 33 slip road and crashed.
The driver left the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot but was arrested by police shortly afterwards.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “At around 10.15am today (Tuesday October 20) a car was spotted driving dangerously and at high speed on the northbound M6.
“Officers began a pursuit of the car, a Volvo C30, which left the motorway at Junction 33 and crashed on the slip road. The driver ran off from the vehicle but was detained a short time later.
