Long standing car dealership in Morecambe set to close
A car dealership in Morecambe will cease trading after it failed to find a buyer for the business.
DSG Morecambe on Fellgate, White Lund, will close to customers at 6pm on Wednesday September 30.
A spokesman for DSG Morecambe said: “This has been an extremely difficult decision and we have spent considerable time exploring opportunities for another company to take the business
forward, in the hope of protecting the future of the site and retaining our valued team, some of who have served with the company for many decades.
"Sadly, despite these efforts, we have not been able to find a suitable buyer.
“Morecambe has been an important part of DSG for many years, and we know this news has not only been disappointing for our colleagues but will be disappointing for our customers and suppliers as well.
"We would like to express our sincere thanks to our Morecambe team for their exceptional dedication, loyalty and care, and to sincerely thank our customers and suppliers for choosing DSG and supporting the site over the years. Your custom has always been greatly valued.
“We will continue to support our customers from DSG Barrow.”
The spokesman said their Barrow in Furness premises will continue to operate as usual as an official Renault and Dacia Authorised Repairer, providing Renault and Dacia warranty work alongside servicing and repairs for all makes of vehicle.
The spokesman added: “We appreciate that travelling to Barrow may be a change for some customers, so we are increasing our courtesy car fleet to help make your visit as convenient as possible.
“Alternatively, our driver can drop you into town while work is carried out on your vehicle.
"Thank you once again for the support and loyalty you have shown to DSG Morecambe. We very much hope you will allow us to continue looking after you and your vehicle from our Barrow premises, where you will receive the same friendly, professional service from the DSG team.
