Have your say on Lancaster church to support lottery bid
A church in Lancaster needs the public’s help to complete a questionnaire which will support a lottery bid for repairs and refurbishment of the building.
St Paul’s Church, Scotforth is a well-known feature as you drive south of Lancaster on the A6 and they are taking part in the Heritage Open Days this coming weekend.
The church will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday September 12 and from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday September 13.
Everyone is very welcome to come along there will be an exhibition on show marking the church’s 150th Anniversary year – if you have been before there are many new items to view.

A new guide to St Paul’s will be available where you can tour the church and stewards who are willing to answer your questions. Refreshments are available.
St Paul’s does need your help. If anyone has attended St Paul’s in the past, or even currently, either services or family events such as baptisms, weddings or funerals they would be grateful if people could complete an online community consultation questionnaire.
Jayne Weatherill, churchwarden, said: “We are currently in the process of putting together an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund to replace the roof, internal refurbishments, install solar panels and generally ensure the church is there for its community for the next 150 years and beyond.
"The results of a community consultation will help us gather a lot of information to support our project.”
The consultation is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BGN78MZ there are also hard copies of the survey in the church available at the Open Days.
