Storm boards along Morecambe Promenade will remain in place during today’s high tide, which peaks at around noon.

Lancaster City Council has confirmed that its team will then start removing the flood defence boards once it is safe to do so this afternoon, Wednesday.

"We’ll prioritise the busiest areas of the promenade first, with any remaining boards removed tomorrow,” they said.

"Thank you for your patience, with high tides and high wind speeds, the boards played an important part in preventing water, sand and shingle from being washed onto the road during the severe weather conditions.”
