Street parties to be held across Lancaster and Morecambe to celebrate Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Street parties will be taking place in eight roads across the Lancaster district after official permission was granted by the city council.

Numerous residents in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area will be coming together to enjoy a day of celebration with their neighbours as part of the jubilee weekend.

And many will be commemorating the event with a street party.

Applications have been granted by Lancaster City Council at the following locations:

Manor Lane, Slyne

Whernside Grove, Carnforth

Endsleigh Grove, Lancaster

Strait Street, Abbystead

Greaves Hill, Dolphinholme

Shaw Lane, Nether Kellet

Market street, Carnforth

Clarence street, Morecambe

Lancaster mayor Coun Joyce Pritchard, said: “The Queen’s Jubilee promises to be a magnificent occasion and the perfect opportunity for us all to join together to pay tribute to Her Majesty and her 70 years on the throne.”

In addition, Morecambe is aiming to break the world record for the largest street party when it plays host to The Big Jubilee Lunch on the promenade on Sunday.
