Dave Chisnall reached the third round of the HappyBet German Darts Championship in Hildesheim on Sunday.

The Morecambe ace opened the event with an impressive 6-0 whitewash of Belgium’s Dimitri Van den Bergh on Saturday.

His run was to end at the next stage however though as he lost 6-3 to Jelle Klaasen.

Peter Wright claimed his second European Tour win by defeating Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the final.

After a week off, Chisnall returns to Betway Premier League action this Thursday night when he takes on league leader van Gerwen in Cardiff.

The resort thrower is third from bottom but Klaasen and Kim Huybrechts have already been eliminated ahead of two players being cut from the 10-man field at the halfway point.

Chisnall then heads to Milton Keynes this weekend for the latest Players Championship events.
