The trial of a bar owner and employee charged with breaching health and safety regulations after a teenager drank a potentially lethal nitrogen cocktail has been adjourned.

Director of Oscar’s Bar Ltd, Andrew Dunn, 52, of Old Earswick, York and Matthew George Harding, of George Street, Lancaster, will attend a plea and case management hearing on June 12.

A trial date has been set for January 18, 2016.

Gaby Scanlon nearly died after drinking a nitrogen-laced cocktail at Oscar’s Wine Bar in Lancaster in October 2012.

Doctors had to remove Miss Scanlon’s stomach and connect her oesophagus directly to her small bowel.
