Cylist injured after accident on Morecambe promenade

A cyclist suffered serious head injuries after he collided with a metal barrier on Morecambe promenade.

Police said the accident happened at 9pm on Saturday and part of the promenade was cordoned off whilst investigations took place.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s from Lancaster, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
