The Dukes Young Actors will be working their magic on the much loved classic Arthur Miller play – The Crucible – this March.
A cast of more than 30 teenagers will take to The Round stage at the Lancaster theatre with their fresh retelling of this tale of witchcraft.
After two years of presenting new plays tackling issues ranging from rioting to the General Election, the Young Actors turn their attention to a production which has been a theatre staple since it was written in 1953.
The drama at the centre of The Crucible is sparked when 17-year-old Abigail Williams and a group of girls are seen dancing over a fire in the forest. Sickness, rumours and accusations of witchcraft abound as the people of a small community are catapulted into a fury of suspicions and persecutions.
One person’s word against another causes a domino effect of lies and a rapid destruction of trust and truth.
Performances of The Crucible take place at 7.30pm from March 16-19 plus a 2pm matinee on March 19. There will be a post show talk-back on March 16 free to all ticketholders.
Tickets are priced £9/£7 concessions (a £1 per transaction fee applies when booking online).
