THE Promenade Conncert Orchestra welcomes in British Summer Time later this month with a world premiere at the Platform in Morecambe.

Although a new composition, it is written in a pastiche, ‘Palm Court’ style to befit the rest of the programme, covering the last 100 years and more of popular light music, as heard at many seaside and spa holiday resort ‘Palm Court’ conservatory concerts in Britain, and broadcasts from the popular ‘Grand Hotel’ concerts on the radio.

Vahan Salorian has already had commissioned works performed by the professional Northern Chamber Orchestra, and has featured in the BBC2 programme Goldie’s Band: by Royal Appointment about young musicians performing to Prince Harry at Buckingham Palace.
