The fourth Heartbreak Hotel returns to the Robert Gillow pub in Lancaster tonight, May 22.
Featuring live music, walkabout and vaudeville shows, a poker table, magicians and showgirls, the Heartbreak Hotel is curated by local singer and performer Lady Layton.
The artist, who tours the UK and Europe with her work, said: “We want to try and keep it as word-of-mouth as possible in order to fully recreate the atmosphere of the early vaudeville halls, where heightened whispers travelled far and wide about the exotic performers coming to visit town. It’s an environment where troubadours, magicians and glamorous vixens meet and audiences can hear some of the most stylish music around”.
JC’s Hopeless Sinners from Cardiff will play ol’timey country, gospel and honkytonk blues, Owen Saunders is a flamenco aficionado, ‘Lady Layton’ herself will be singing. The event is free but donations are welcome. Dress to impress, from 9pm-1am.
