AN EXTRAVAGANZA of swing is set to take place at the Dalton Rooms next Friday (April 1), with Lancaster electro-swing quartet Sound Assembly heading up the proceedings.
Sound Assembly lead vocalist Sally Bloomer, 29, from Lancaster, promises a unique collaboration of both local and national artists fusing the glitz, glamour and decadence of the 30s and 40s with up to date and exciting sounds.
The band are fresh from a performance at London’s Book Club, and have spent the last two years perfecting their sound, drawing on swing influences, as well as band member and former Koma and Bones producer Jude Sebastian’s 20 years experience in the dance music arena.
Sally, formerly vocalist in festival favourites UR Penetrators, said: “A couple of years ago we didn’t know anything about the scene, but we thought we’d steal some 40s sounds and mix them with some electronic sounds.
