Bristol singer-songwriter Gaz Brookfield kicks off his UK tour at The Greyhound in Halton on January 31.
Joined by Morecambe guitar slinger Joe McCorriston, Gaz will be performing “instantly accessible every-man tales of life, love and everything else in between”.
He has toured and gigged with the likes of Frank Turner, Newton Faulkner and The Levellers and in 2010 he won Acoustic Magazine’s Singer Songwriter of the year competition.
This earned him, among other prizes, a slot on the Big Top stage at the Beautiful Days festival and led to loads of other festival appearances over that summer, and bookings for even more in 2011 and 2012, firmly cementing him as a regular on the UK festival circuit.
In December 2011, he became the first and only unsigned solo act to sell out The Fleece, Bristol and has done this twice more since then.
He recently toured the UK’s O2 Academies with The Levellers, where he broke all the venue records for numbers of albums sold by a support act every night (upwards of 60 albums sold every night), which secured him yet more tour dates with them in 2013.
Joe McCorriston joined him for tour dates in 2013, including one at the John O’ Gaunt in Lancaster in December, and will head out again taking in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Harrogate, Derby and Wiltshire following the gig at The Greyhound in Low Road, Halton, as part of the Sounds From The Hound series. The show starts at 8.30pm.
