LANCASTER songstress Donna Kolev sings from the heart on her debut album, All I Have, which was released on April 10.

The 29-year-old mum-of-one has been performing professionally for more than 10 years, but this 11-track album is her first release of original music, and she has ambitions to produce more tracks in the near future.

Donna said that if she didn’t do it now, she never would, and so began a gathering of experiences that has led to a recording at the Music Spot in Great John Street by Lancaster University student Paulius Gailiunas.

“It’s mainly piano and vocal-led ballads, but there are also drums included and some uptempo stuff as well,” Donna said.

“It’s from the heart, based on different personal experiences, and also those taken from friends.”

Donna cites her influences as musicals, as well as Gershwin, Frank Sinatra, and Lady Gaga.

She added: “It’s a new challenge, I’ve done the covers for so long, but this is a step in another direction, it feels so much more exciting knowing that it is my own work.”

Donna now hopes to pen more tracks around her job as an English teacher in Bulgaria, where her husband is from.

All I Have is available now from iTunes, HMV Downloads and

Another budding Lancaster singer launched her debut album, Hide And Seek, at the Dukes DT3 on April 11.
