DUE to illness, local comedian Jim Bowen will no longer be performing alongside fellow comedians Mick Miller and Stan Boardman in ‘A Night of Laughter: One Night Only’ at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre on May 21.

Jim has recently suffered a stroke and, although he is set to fully recover, understandably needs to focus on getting better.

His spokesman said: “He is a workaholic but sometimes he needs to be kind to himself and look after number one before thinking of going out and making people laugh.

“Jim is disappointed that he has to miss the show, but in his absence Fortunes ‘ lead singer Shel Mcrae, and also Ian ‘Sludge’ Lees, one of Jim’s favourite comedians, will be joining Miller and Boardman for the performance.
