Former Chumbawamba member exhibits his paintings at Settle gallery

His installation, titled ‘Interventions with Stone’ takes, as its centre of operations, the Gallery, a former BT phone box, which is thought to be the world’s smallest art gallery.

His work takes forays to make drawings, paintings, photographs and recordings. It looks at stone walls, stone in the landscape, even the sound of stone.

Phil Moody has a home and studio in Bingley and typically creates artwork in film, photography, painting, drawing and text.

He has an MA in Visual Art and says that he works in whatever medium he sees fit and makes whatever social comments he thinks necessary.

He joined Chumbawamba in the early 2000s as the accordionist, but subsequently played a variety of instruments.

During his time with the band they performed at Glastonbury and made the albums The Boy Bands have Won and ABCDEFG.

He also played a prominent part in the band’s theatrical production Riot, Rebellion and Bloody Insurrection.

The exhibition runs until May 25.
