On December 15 at 1pm, the Lancaster cinema will host a donation screening of Miracle on 34th Street (U) where the audience can either pay for their ticket as normal or bring along one of the food items listed at www.dukes-lancaster.org/?event=miracle to the Box Office in exchange for a ticket.

There will also be a special dementia friendly screening of this 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street on December 10 at 2pm with an interval of seasonal songs performed by Helen Longworth, currently appearing in the theatre’s production of Peter Pan.

Tickets for this event are £6.50/£5.50 concessions with free admission for one friend, family member or carer. There’s a free pastry and coffee with each ticket.

The Dukes festive film season begins on December 9 with a recorded broadcast of The Nutcracker by the Royal Ballet. A live version of this most Christmassy of ballets from the Bolshoi follows on December 23. Both of these Stage on Screen events are priced £13.50/£12.50 concessions.

A cult classic for children and adults alike, A Nightmare Before Christmas(PG) is screened on December 15 as part of the family films programme together with a screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol on December 22. Tickets for all family films are £2.50. There’s another chance to see The Muppets take on the Dickens classic on Christmas Eve.

And December’s Parent & Baby screening has a festive theme too – Home Alone(PG).

If you fancy trying something new on the film front this Christmas then Anna And The Apocalypse(15) on December 21 and 22 could be just the ticket.

Quite possibly the world’s first zombie Christmas musical, it’s the story of a zombie apocalypse threatening a sleepy town, forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones.

And for the more traditional film fans, what better way to celebrate Christmas than with The Dukes annual screenings of It’s A Wonderful Life(U) on December 23 and 24?

Unless otherwise stated above, tickets for Dukes films are priced £6.50/£5.50 concessions.
