I’m not sure if Anne
Anderson’s two sons have noticed but Mum’s Gone AWOL.

The former Morecambe High School pupil’s satirical novel has struck a chord with her story of a mum who cannot take any more of other people’s problems.

The novel takes the reader on a personal journey

Anne, who writes under the pseudonym Roxii Berry, gives ‘Mum’ the gift of some me time so she can try to de-clutter h er mind.

Since it was released on Amazon at Christmas, the novel has received five star reviews and attracted
lots of attention for its
brash imagery and written voice.

Mum’s Gone AWOL explores Samantha’s uncertainty in accepting herself as a mother because of her abused past.

Alone, on the beautiful sun kissed island of Gran Canarias, she unpicks her personal history and creates a new identity.

Anne said: “The novel takes the reader on a personal journey from that awful feeling of unworthiness that we all feel from time to time, to a place of belonging and self-worth.”

Anne went to Morecambe High School in the 1970s later studying counselling at Bournemouth and Poole College.

She then went onto the Access to Higher Education Diploma graduating from the University of Winchester with a BA Hons in Creative Writing in 2014.

Now living in Poole with her two sons, Anne is keeping her fingers crossed her second novel – to be published later this month – follows the success of her first.
