SLIDESHOW: Lancaster food and drink fiesta success

Waistbands weren't the only thing increasing at Lancaster's food and drink festival.

The food lovers paradise expanded to three full days across the bank holiday and this year’s event saw a record number of stalls holders as well as record temperatures. With no danger of a seven-year itch, this was the seventh year that the free festival took place at Lancaster Leisure Park on Wyresdale Road.Over the three days, over 60 high quality food and drink producers created a haven for foodies alongside children’s activities, play areas, face painting and magic. It was a fantastic atmosphere with lots of people relaxing in the brewery garden, enjoying the amazing weather and live music. Thousands of visitors enjoyed the demonstrations, advice, and free samples from stalls showcasing meat, pies, biscuits and cakes, as well as artisan spices, oils, chutneys and relishes. Chris Duffy, events manager at Lancaster Brewery esaid: “It’s incredible how popular this event has become, and with the fantastic weather, we saw thousands of visitors over the weekend, relaxing and just enjoying browsing, eating and meeting friends. “
