Aspect's success in Morecambe ginfest

Lancs Ginfest took place on January 23 and 24, at Aspect Bar and Bistro in Morecambe and attracted hundreds of gin-lovers wishing to use their ‘tipple tokens’ to sample some of the rarest gins in the world.

More than 70 different gins were available for sampling, with a variety of garnishes also provided, to help bring out the flavours of the gin so they could be sampled at their very best.

Gin explorers were guided through their voyage of discovery by a specially produced guide and by masterclasses, given by Aspect Bar and Bistro’s Paul Bury, and other experts.

Gins from British craft distillers ranged from Mason’s Gin, from Yorkshire, to Steam Punk Gin from the Northumberland Gin Company and Broker’s Gin from Surrey, which stood out thanks to the top hat on its cap.

With jazz rhythms from saxophonist, John Woodhouse, and areas in which to relax and imbibe, tippling in Morecambe had never been so enjoyable.

Aspect Bar and Bistro’s Judy Edmondson said: “We never expected so many people to come to this inaugural event and several groups stayed over in our Lothersdale Hotel and made a weekend of it.
