Kalimba Events is also looking for local artists and performers who want to help celebrate The Beatles legacy each year in Morecambe.

If you can sing or play tracks from arguably the most famous band in the world contact Kalimba Events and get involved this summer for next year’s 50th anniversary of the release of the Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band album in 1967. Last year The Beatles iconic album, Sgt Pepper, was first taught to GCSE music students.

Britain’s biggest exam board, AQA, asked students to study three songs from the album – “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”, “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “Within You Without You.”

The Beatles visited the resort in January 1963, playing at the Floral Hall ballroom.

Back then, The Floral Hall had live bands on seven mornings and seven nights a week in summer, and four during the winter months.

Organisers are planning to bring back Beatlesday at the Morecambe Winter Gardens this summer and every August with non-stop Beatles compositions through the day and a swinging 60s disco evening at night.

No matter what age you are or if you want to do a full set or even just a favourite Beatles song then ring 01524 424 303.
