Morecambe artist showcases 1970s musical exhibition
‘I Made It Myself’ opens at More Music’s Hothouse on Monday (March 7). Ahead of this there will be an opening event on Saturday from 6pm-9pm.
Alan is a member of Morecambe Artist Colony, the local group which curates the exhibition space at the Hothouse, in Devonshire Road.

Hide AdHe is described as having many musical and creative identities, the products of which are released under a variety of pseudonyms.
Always embracing the DIY aesthetic, he writes the music, designs the sleeves and directs the visuals of an eclectic assemblage of fabricated musical projects.
Although the work itself spans the last decade many of the “groups” have their constructed origins set long before.
Ostensibly conceived in the late 1970s onwards and then discovered decades later, all complete with fictitious back stories.

Hide AdThis show brings together most of the artwork from these enterprises alongside new collage works and various posters for upcoming projects. From this back room, punk DIY, cottage industry comes the inspiring call to “Make It Yourself”.
The exhibition is free and can be viewed during office hours on weekdays and at More Music gigs and events.
