More Music young leaders live event

More Music's Young Leaders team will hold their latest live youth music event at the Hothouse in Morecambe.

On Friday April 1 young local bands and musicians such as Karena, Almost Immortal, The Guests, Iona Lane and Youth Orbit will showcase their talents.

Headliners Karena are a four piece indie-rock band from Lancaster featuring former members of The Hairpiece Suite, The Natives and Drawing Lines.

Karena take their influences from bands like Two Door Cinema Club and the Arctic Monkeys and blend it together to take indie rock to new places.

Other bands playing on the night include Almost Immortal who are a local hard rock band, The Guests who are bringing mod back to Morecambe and young jazz group Youth Orbit. Solo performers include Iona Lane, a 17-year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist with folk influences such as Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake.

Doors open at 7pm and the night runs until 10pm. All the bands are part of More Music’s youth music sessions which run weekly at the Hothouse during term time.

Bring your friends for a night of live, local music and catch all the up and coming bands in the area and all for only £4 or £3 if you are under 18 or in full time education.
