This is tragi-comic play about George Riley and three couples, but we never meet the main character, George.

We learn that he is a charmer with an overwhelming passion for life, “a hippy Peter Pan”.

We do see his effect on the three couples. There are other invisibles throughout the play, a small boy, a teenage daughter, a ghost called Basil Bender and a bossy director.

Geoff Houghton, who plays Simeon the farmer, is usually back stage helping to move scenery or being the voice of the giant, but now he is on stage.

Lesley Ryan is well known to many for being the welcoming face Front of House at the theatre or the pianist in Calendar Girls. In this play she is the long-suffering wife of George.

Will all three women go on holiday with George? Will their partners convince them not to? Will their relationships survive?

Come and find out on April 12-16 at the Lancaster Grand Theatre. For tickets call 01524 64695 or visit www.lancastergrand.co.uk.
