Celebrating all things psychedelic, the event on February 1 will feature live music and DJs and visual displays, with musicians from Manchester, Preston, Burnley, Cumbria and Lancaster taking to the stage.

Headlining will be Manchester’s Fruit Tones and Purple Heart Parade. Fruit Tones are a 1960s influenced garage rock band, who toured the States last year, playing multiple times at South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

Purple Heart Parade are a shoegaze psych rock band who’s brand new EP came out last Friday.

Also on the bill are Ginnel and Dream English Kid from Preston, The Heartwood Institute, from Cumbria, Solar, from Burnley, Kindred of the Acid Test, from “space”, and Vex Message and Grace Monaco from Lancaster.

Harry Gorst, who has programmed the event musically, said the first Lune Attack took place at The Park Hotel in 2017 and sold out, proving popular with city music lovers.

He said: “We’ve been looking to do a much bigger one since then, but never found a suitable venue until Kanteena opened.

“Charlie Kondras has done all the design work, and Simon Norfolk, Alan Outram, Joe Kondras and Joel Maudsley are also involved in various ways.

“We picked the acts by coming together and trying to create a varied line up of different artists who could all in someway fit under the psych umberella. People can expect something different to just an average day festival, with trippy visual displays and a mind bending musical experience.”

Lune Attack kicks off at 5pm on February 1, and tickets are £10 in advance and £12 on the door.

The event will take place during the national Independent Venue Week.
