Suitable for children aged three-seven, this fun, interactive experience is presented by award-winning theatre company One Tenth Human and arts organisation The Dukes Lancaster, in partnership with development charity Global Link.

Leading the Zoom session is Investigator Toni, who needs a little help to solve a problem with a home-made marble run… but there may be a few surprising discoveries along the way.

There are six opportunities for households to become Curious Investigators, with two performances of these hour-long sessions taking place on April 3 and April 10-11 (10.30am and 3pm).

Anyone looking to join in with the show will need a laptop, phone or tablet with access to Zoom, as well as a few bits and pieces from recycling ready for making and a helpful adult on hand.

Tickets are £3 per household and spaces are limited. Booking for each performance closes on the Friday immediately before. To book, please visit www.dukeslancaster.org/get-involved/workshops

Curious Investigators are also encouraged to continue their investigations outside after the show in a fluffy chick trail around Lancaster city centre, part of a project led by One Tenth Human.

“We wanted to provide local families with some Covid-safe fun over the holidays, but we needed help: and we’ve been overwhelmed by how many wonderful volunteers have come forward”, said artistic director, Sarah Punshon. “Five of us have been making pompoms like mad to keep up!”

Volunteers have offered to create spring-themed displays in their windows, and each Chick will be having fun doing something different: they might be flying across the window, investigating an Easter egg, or simply resting in a homemade nest.

Families are invited to fill in a trail map and send it back for the chance to win a giant Easter egg.

The project is supported by Lancaster City Council’s Local Integration Fund, aimed at bringing locals together with Syrian refugees who have been resettled here after fleeing civil war.

One Tenth Human is working with local development charity, Global Link, to encourage and support refugee families to take part. Gisela Renolds, director of Global Link, said: “We know from our pilot Teddy Bear Trail that this project can create beautiful moments of connection for families who have felt so isolated under lockdown.

“We’re enormously grateful to all the volunteers.” Free trail maps are now available for download: visit www.onetenthhuman.com/easter
