Andy Fairweather swings into Platform

The Welsh guitarist, songwriter, producer and vocalist first came to prominence as the lead singer in Amen Corner.

They had success in the 1960s with a string of hits including ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’ and ‘(If Paradise is) Half As Nice’.

His first solo album in 24 years ‘Sweet Soulful Music’ was released late in 2007 followed by ‘The Very Best Of Andy Fairweather Low’.

He is regarded one of the UK’s most distinctive artists, endorsed by many of the world’s greatest talents.

And on Friday (June 17) he is appearing at The Platform in Morecambe.

Over the years Fairweathner Low has worked with the likes of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, David Crosby, The Band, Elton John, Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, The Who, BB King, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Linda Ronstadt, The Bee Gees, Jeff Beck, Lonnie Donegan, Mary J. Blige, Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, and Sheryl Crow.

He opened for Eric Clapton on his European tour in 2013 with his band with his band the Lowriders.

In April 2013, he appeared at the Eric Clapton Guitar Festival Crossroads in New York and featured on two tracks of the DVD of the concert.

And later the same year he was part of Clapton’s band who performed two concerts in Basel, Switzerland.
