“We'd like to say a huge Merry Christmas to all the businesses who work so hard to make Lancaster such a fantastic city centre and to the public who support your local businesses throughout the year,” the team said.
"Lancaster BID has had another busy year organising and supporting events in the city, supporting businesses and the public through our Safe and Secure priority, and delivering physical improvements to make the city centre more attractive.
“The generosity of local businesses and community members has also excelled with our charity Christmas Toy Appeal seeing literally thousands of items donated which have now been delivered to help support seven local charities. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to helping ensure less fortunate local children can have a Christmas to remember.
"Everything we have delivered this year has only been possible with the support we have received from our funders, sponsors and, of course, all the levy paying businesses who work so hard throughout the year to make Lancaster such an amazing place to visit, live, work and do business. The hard work from each and every one of you is what makes Lancaster so special.
“We wish you all a successful and enjoyable festive season and look forward to continuing to work with you all throughout 2025.”
The BID team have put together this little look at some of their highlights from throughout 2024.
1. January
January saw Lancaster hosting BID managers from across the north for a regional networking event. These events help the team to share industry knowledge and best practice with other BIDs. Other BID managers were impressed with their walk around Lancaster city centre and gave very positive feedback. Networking events continued on a quarterly basis throughout the year including a visit to Bradford shown here. Photo: Lancaster BID

In February the BID supported Chinese New Year celebrations in the city centre to welcome in the Year of the Dragon. Chinese lanterns adorned the streets and the city centre came alive with Chinese musicians, Kung Fu displays and the spectacular lion and dragon dances. The event returns in January 2025 when we will welcome in the Year of the Snake. Photo: Lancaster BID
3. March
In March, designers from Two Stories partnered with BID to launch new Love Lancaster branding with the aim to bring to light the uniqueness of Lancaster and create a sense of pride and belonging for everyone who visits, works, and lives in the city. The Love Lancaster brand assets have been made available free of charge to city centre businesses and organisations. Contact BID if you'd like to know more about how you can use the Love Lancaster branding to share the love for our wonderful city. Photo: Lancaster BID
4. April
During the Easter holiday, families were encouraged to visit and explore Lancaster city centre to seek out the wonderful bunnies hidden in the windows of businesses throughout the city. Many participants said it encouraged them to explore and discover places they hadn't visited before, and the lucky winners each got to take one of the bunnies home to remind them of their day out in Lancaster along with a gift voucher to spend on their next visit to the city centre.
