Cameos from Simon Gould, Dave Jack and James Rafferty, who struck three enterprising sixes, ensured a healthy target was posted.

Wickets fell regularly in the Carnforth reply until the weather intervened with the score at 71 for 4.

Shireshead’s trip to Ambleside on Sunday in the Hackney Leigh Trophy also fell foul of the weather.
