Tyson Fury’s next opponent is set to be undefeated Russian Denis Boytsov.

The Morecambe heavyweight prospect’s uncle and trainer Peter has all but confirmed on Twitter that the explosive 26-year-old would face his man at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on December 1.

The fight would be a step up in class for Fury as he looks to continue on the road to a shot at one of the heavyweight ruling Klitschkos.

It will be the first time Boytsov, who has won 25 of his 31 fights via knockout and is ranked third in the world by the World Boxing Council, has fought outside of Germany or Austria.

The 24-year-old Fury is ranked number four and his camp have reportedly seen possible bouts with former world heavyweight title contenders Tomasz Adamek and Ruslan Chagaev fall through.

The Morecambe man, who has won 14 of his 19 fights by knockout, last fought in July when he stopped New York journeyman Vinny Maddalone in the fifth round.

He has since courted controversy with foul-mouth outbursts directed at rival David Price and his promoter Frank Maloney, for which he has since apologised.
